Forum: What laws need to change to ensure a safe climate future?

Victoria’s laws are not up to scratch to save us from climate catastrophe.

Young Victorians are staring down the barrel of climate collapse. Meanwhile, Labor in Victoria continues to approve new coal and gas projects, adding fuel to the fire.

In June, Federal Labor failed to legislate a ‘climate duty of care’. What laws need to change here in Victoria to ensure a safe climate future?

Join us on Thursday 1 August from 7pm to hear from legal experts and climate leaders, ask questions, and have your say at Black Spark Cultural Centre in Northcote.

Panelists:

  • Cecile Bester – Climate Lawyer at Environmental Justice Australia
  • Anasina Gray-Barberio – Founder and Lead Community Organiser at Engage Pasefika
  • Ellen Sandell MP – Leader of the Victorian Greens
  • Jesse Dass – Youth Advisory Group Co-Founder

There will be snacks!

Space is limited. RSVP is essential.

We hope to see you there!
