We love our community, but right now the cost of many things — from housing to groceries to healthcare — is too high. The Victorian Labor Government is making things worse by demolishing public housing, cutting funding to public schools, and eroding public services.
As your local MP, I’m fighting to end unlimited rent increases, to tax corporations properly to fund the things we all need, for stronger action on climate change and to ban dodgy corporate donations to political parties.
As always, I’m here to listen and help, so please get in touch!
Recent wins

Australia’s First Treaty
It was an honour to work alongside First Nations leaders and elders to pass Australia’s first ever Treaty laws at the end of last year – with the Greens MPs providing the deciding votes.

$150+ million for safer bike lanes and footpaths
Through budget negotiations with the State Government, I was proud to secure $15 million per year (every year!) for safer bike lanes and footpaths in the inner city. It’s just one example of how having Greens MPs in the Parliament leads to real, tangible outcomes for our community.

Wins for climate and nature
Last Budget, I was proud to secure over $60 million in new funding for climate action, including programs to get manufacturing and homes off polluting fossil fuel gas power. This included $20 million for Landcare and Trust for Nature, two organisations doing incredible on-ground conservation work.
I’m fighting to …

Stop public housing demolition
Everyone deserves to have a safe place to live. But the Allan Labor Government is demolishing all of our public housing towers to make way for private development on this land. Seven more towers, including in North Melbourne, Kensington and Flemington, have just been added to the chopping block. Evidence shows refurbishing these homes would be cheaper than demolishing them. My Greens colleagues and I are fighting to stop the privatisation of public housing and to build more public housing.

Save community health
Our community health GP clinic in Kensington is at risk of closing due to lack of government funding. We’re campaigning to demand Federal and State Governments step in with a proper long-term funding solution to keep our community health centres open.

Reverse the cuts to public schools
Victoria’s schools are the lowest funded in the country! Last year, the Allan Labor Government cut a further $2.4 billion from public education. My Greens colleagues and I secured an official inquiry into these cuts, which will begin this year.

End unlimited rent increases
Rents have gone up twice as much as wages over the last 5 years. It’s not right. I’m fighting for rent controls to end unlimited rent increases, like they already have in the ACT.
